I still have (and use) my high school "domestic science" cookbook from the early 1960s. It's very useful for "basic" things that you don't find in cookbooks these days.

I took it when I left home..... after a HUGE argument with my mother, who wanted to keep the book!

The pages all have lots of holes down the side, fitted onto a "curly binder" thingie, it's lost its cover, and it's battered, tattered & splattered!

:-D

I have a Be-Ro cookbook - no cover and much used. My mother gave it to me and it is from the early 50's.

My grannies had them, so did my Mother........ no idea what happened to them.

Vague memory of a girl in a tunic on the cover, like Kay's.

Found my Be-Ro book this morning (Top Shelf) whilst bringing out the Slow Cooker (Crockpot) into play. he.he.
Got chicken and vegetable Curry on the go... and, I have just had a quick test taste...
Yep!Mmmm looks like being one of my best creations yet, if I do say so myself (I usually make them a little too hot and spicey).

The 1st Be-Ro Book was printed in 1923.(91yrs ago) :-0

Who`s got the oldest copy then?
Mine is only about 6/7yrs old, 40th edition.

... And, can you remember getting your flour in those linen sacks as opposed to the present Paper Bags.
The Linen bags were much prized by the youngsters at the time and used for keeping your marbles in. :-D
