Just one question

how did these people get your email addresses???????????

You must have been in contact with them previously or given them your email address.

My case is different ................ it is my phone number that they are getting, and that is available to political parties during an election campaign, whether I am listed in the phone book or not

Had one from the PM himself this afternoon maybe their not going to come knocking on my door looking for votes so I won't have to tell them to shove off. :-D

methinks that although the "signature" might be a genuine one the email is sent from a local office and you wouldn't be able to contact the " gentleman" directly.....

If I got an e-mail from IDS I would ask him, to come in person to our local authority sheltered housing scheme, and tell the majority of the 165 residents, that the reason they struggle from one pension day to the next to make ends meet and keep themselves warm, is because his reforms are nothing to do with saving the government money, they are only about improving the lives of the vulnerable :-S

If he refused, I would reply, with a few choice expressions that, the regimental sergeant major used, to describe raw recruits, during my time in the army - as an ex-soldier I am sure he would understand them ;-)

Some new Governments, elected by jubilant voters, often practice such corruption & tyranny that soon the new rulers are hated more intensely than the previous ones.

yes and most have a "begging" option............to donate..........

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 30 Oct 2014 05:19

What we get is almost immediate identification of the party

eg, "This call is on behalf of the xxxxxxxxxx party, ..."

and I hang up :-)

Occasionally, it is varied and a candidate will make the call .......... at the moment it is usually either the mayor who is running again, or the opposition contender

eg, "This is Mayor xxxxx xxxxxx calling to ask you .........."

guess what??

I've hung up again, and have no idea what else he's going to say :-D

LadyScozz Report 30 Oct 2014 04:31

Do you get the 'phone calls..........

"Please hold for some important political information" ?

I have no idea what the "important" information is, because I hang up immediately!

I know I am in another country, and therefore maybe not relevant .................

but we have municipal elections coming up on November 15 ................ electing
a Mayor, City Councillors, School Board Trustees, and Parks Board

I am sick and tired of getting those robo phone calls from the 2 main parties ..................... always around our evening meal time

I guess I should thank heaven that the remaining 5 or 6 minority parties do not have the money for this kind of call

Oh dear, poor you Linda!

It's bad enough getting junk mail from politicians!!

It goes straight into the recycle bin........ pity we can't do that with the pollies.

I was just wondering if Anyone else on here has had any emails from the Tory party, I have had three or four now the latest one from IDS telling me how labour got us into this mess and they (Torys) have got us out of it. Now I never give out my email address except to family and friends. Is this the new way of campaigning I wonder.
