Conkers

I ahven't seen any that large .....................

but it was noticeable this year that the 2 horse chestnut trees across the street had produced much larger conkers than they have any time in the last 42 years we have lived here!


It must have been a very good year for them

We did have a very good summer and early fall

Have never seen any like these in our lifetimes. Seeking a new supply to replenish last year's anti-spider artillery. OH was late going to the horse chestnut tree (outside the school) and was left with the dregs (size of large ollies).

Complaining to son - he said there were plenty of conker trees around his home.
Told me they filled the palm of his hand. Took it with a pinch of slat.

He was right they are huge but black - has anyone seen this type before. Both men complaining they would have been conker champions had they had access to this type. :-D
