High Profile Thefts in Perth WA

I've just been reading a news report about a series of thefts in Perth and Fremantle targeting Antiquarian Bookshops.

Apparently, a group of thieves with expert knowledge are stealing first editions and other rare books from the shops.

In the latest theft, one of the few remaining first editions of Samuel Johnson's Dictionary was stolen.

The only clue that the Police have to go on is a series of poems left on the scene after each robbery.

Despite extensive testing, there has been no physical evidence, DNA etc. found on the poems. Experts are all agreed, however, that the poems show a profound knowledge of the English Language, and structure of poetry.

Indeed, some Academics maintain that the quality of the poems is such that they would not be out of place in some of the first editions stolen.

The Police have now, begrudgingly, admitted that the thieves have got away with words ;-)

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
