My brother and the R A F

I've been trying to find some service details for my brother who, like me, served in peace time in the RAF and I believe he was based at Tern Hill He was a National Serviceman. He would have been in circa 1949-51 based at No 6 Flying Training School at Tern Hill.

I've broached the RAF about this but although he is my brother I am not classed as 'direct family'. My sister in law says he didn't relate any of this to her and they married after he was out of the RAF.

Has anyone any idea if their is any other way I can find out more?

also any children he may have can apply ,,,,,,proof is needed by way of their birth information ,his marriage certificate and his death certificate ,copies of these must be sent, and a cost is payable,,,,,,,,the widow I belive gets automatic rights ?on proof of his death and marriage.

the wait is a long time though.

as it was peacetime and national service duty there probally wont be much in them I dont supose,,,,,reports of any misconduct or passes of trade.or if he got posted abroad,,,,,,

William,

Let us have more details if you have them.
Some of us who did our National service around that time may have come across him.
