	My front room still looks like a crack den but yesterday I had enough impetus to get on with a bit more sanding on the floor, We took the door between the front room and the bottom of the stairs/front door off so that Fred in his wheelchair could better access the dirty washing when he was about his daily round of non- stop drudgery. I am, of course, kindness incarnate. The door is still off and there are two curtains across the doorway, one in the room, one in the hall. The yuppyish neighbour came round yesterday to tell us he was going to be letting off fireworks in the evening and that we were welcome to come round and have a drink and stuff. The front door was open because of the dust but the curtains were closed so I said I was lying on the floor so please pull the curtain over as I was lying on the floor playing with my toys (sanders). He thought I might have a bad back. It wasn't until he had left that I thought how glad I was that he was not holding a camera. What an illustration of how village life really is that would have been. Fat old biddy chav lies prone on the floor of a crack den! Lucky I didn't have a can of beer as well.
