like Shirley we use to have sea food as well on a sunday afternoon

We would have the shrimps and winkles man around, half a pint of shrimps and half a pint of winkles and quarter pint of cockles all measured out in silver tankards

That would be our sunday tea with bread and marge

We would wash and drain them and the cockles would be drenched in vinegar with some rounds of fresh onion over them

WHEN I WAS A TIDDLER ABOUT 3 OR 4 ,ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON A MAN USED TO WALK ,,WELL LIMP ROUND PUSHING AN OLD PUSHCHAIR RINGING AN OLD SCHOOL
BELL CALLING OUT CRUMPETS,I WAS ALLOWED ONE AND
TOASTED IT ON THE FIRE WITH LOTS OF BUTTER,,
CANT BEAT TOASTING ON THE FIRE,,,,,,,,,LUVERLEY XXX
