I'm the same Sylvia. The low-slung pants drive me mad, always feel like they're falling off.

I still have my hourglass figure. The sand has moved a bit.

:-D

my now deceased niece was married to a man with similar problems to your OH, LS, only his were due to playing soccer ............................

she got fed up of him buying pants that were too tight in the thighs, and the seams splitting, so she made him go to a tailor and have pants made to his measurements

I think he still does that for dress trousers, 30 years later!

They found it was well worth the extra cost.

my DH has terrible trouble getting trousers to fit. He has "rugby legs", big thighs & calf muscles, but he doesn't have a fat belly. Most pants that fit his legs are far too big in the waist. Funny thing is, he doesn't have the same problem buying jeans (not like I do!).

I'm now thinking about the OP.

I want to buy a pair of calf length boots for a family member.
She has, lets say... "heavy legs" and needs a wider fit

All wide leg boots seem to made for wide feet too.
Although she has chubby legs, she has very slim feet

I'm in Oz........ summer now

and I'm wondering......... I live in the sub-tropics, so why are most of the clothes in the shops made of polyester? Horrible any time, but in summer, it's like wearing clingfilm.

:-(

Sains introduced a range of long sleeved pintucked blouses with a collar and cuffs @ £18 which work for me. They flare out over the above waist bulge!
Although intended to be worn outside the waistband, they look OK tucked in. As far as I can remember, they were in white, burgandy or navy blue

Liz, my work hi vis "jacket" is a coat on me the sleeves go right to my finger tips and the main body of it is down to my knees.
What I do with blouses when I find one I like I move the buttons on the cuffs over a bit so at least they don't seem to long.
Trousers yeah right I always have to turn them up!
I'm 5' 1" and 11 1/2 stone.
I read somewhere the some designers are homosexual and design all their clothes for boy shape!

LadyScozz Report 23 Nov 2014 04:14

I've just got back from "shopping".

I wanted a pair of black shorts. Not too difficult? Hah! Not one pair in the shops. There were cut-off black jeans, but they're too hot for summer. While on the subject of trousers/pants/shorts......... when are the manufacturers going to realise not all of us are 18 years old and weigh 50Kg? We don't want the bum-crack pants they make!!! :-P

I also wanted a bra....... tried on 6...... none of them fitted. The stock was 80% padded bras, not something I need.

:-| :-| :-|

The thing that bugs me more is that tops andd tshirts in larger sizes are made with longer sleeves and longer lengths I put on weight, true, but it hasn't made my arms or body any longer/taller lol
