What's the position when the matrix signs on a motorway are showing the wrong information?
At the moment, one lane is closed on the M27, but the signs say all lanes are closed.
Where would a driver stand if they knew this and ignored the (wrong) signs?

Doesn't this occur very often, esp, on the m25?, around Heathrow?
carry on until you see which lane is actually closed. and when you get there it isn't closed at all!
It would be ridiculous in your case as it implies that all traffic should stop and stand where they are

I thought it should also say WHERE the problem is.........

Only signs that have a red ring illuminated around them are compulsory - usually denoting speed restrictions - otherwise the signs are advisory only.

Wouldn't affect me personally, Bob, I don't drive.
I noticed it on a local website this morning, looked at the cameras and the motorway was empty!
8am is not a good time for such a mistake.
The message had been wrong for over half an hour and engineers were STILL on their way!!!

Interesting, IPG. I love the ones that say 50mph, when we're crawling along at 15mph :-(

Nothing like being behind a learner on a motor "bike" that is limited to 30 mph(if that) in a 50 plus limit road......
I feel that they are taught "you pay your tax to use the road, so hog it so no one can pass"
