Babysitting this weekend - time to get the tree up and let the grandsons (4 and 6) put the unbreakable (mostly corn dollies) ornaments on it :-D

Have to admit to finding Christmas a bit awkward, but the corn dollies always make me feel better - thinking of the spring :-D

We plan to get out the bonsai tree this year again, there isn't much space in this house and sometimes we use a flat backed tree that I got from b and q, it hangs on the wall so works well. However as we aren't likely to have anyone here this year, we will use the small tree again, it is a fake bonsai fir tree, wider than it is tall and it has lights that change colour or flicker so looks really festive when plugged in. Surrounded by small Christmas decorations and with lights and such draped round the room and banister it looks festive enough and not quite so much work to trim up everywhere. With the cards up too we are happy.

Always had a real tree when my son was young and we were at home, but now he has his own flat he uses a fake tree.
