Dear All

Hello

Nearly 3,000 people died from the effects of toxic gases, leaked from a chemical factory near Bhopal, in India.

The accident happened in the early hours of the morning at the
American-owned Union Carbide Pesticide Plant, near to the city.

A deadly cloud of lethal gas floated from the factory over Bhopal, which was
home to more than 900,000 people.

Chaos and panic broke out in the city and surrounding areas as tens of thousands of people attempted to escape.

More than 20,000 people needed hospital treatment.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Union Carbide factory was closed immediately after the accident
and three senior members of staff arrested.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since then, campaigners say almost 20,000 others have died from
the effects of the leak and woeful lack of compensation and admission
of guilt from the American company.

And STILL, the people affected by one of the worst chemical disasters
do not have justice.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take gentle care
Sincere wishes
Elizabeth,
xx

I remember the incident EOS, although 'incident' is probably not the correct word to use :-(

It was a tragedy of catastrophic proportions, and yes, even today, there are still related deaths occurring from the disaster :-( :-(
