You are most welcome Piers <3 :-D

OFITG I have found it on Amazon ...this must be it

A beautiful, touching story based on the book by Paul Gallico about a young Italian boy in Assisi who travels to Rome to ask the Pope's permission to let him take his dying donkey to the tomb of St. Francis to pray for a miraculous cure. Shot on site in Assisi and Rome.

You can actually still get it on DVD

Mersey - of all the films I have seen, the one that always sticks in my mind was one I saw when I was about 9 or 10 years old, for the love of me I cannot recall the name of the film but it was about a little boy from Southern Italy who travelled to Rome with his sick donkey to ask the Pope to let him take his donkey to the tomb of Saint Francis of Assisi so he could ask the Saint to heal his donkey - I remember it as though I only saw it yesterday :-)

No daddy, says she :-S. I asked her what she had done that wasn't good. She said that she had eaten two of Henry's (our cat) biscuits :-0 :-0. I asked her why that was :-0 :-0.
She said that she had wanted to PURR. Crikey, no way was I expecting that :-0. :-D :-D
