Last week, an old friend (C) who has retired with a pension, decided to change his car. He could have traded it in for a few thousand. He didn't. Instead, he contacted my sister (A) and another old friend (P), and put a proposition to them - and they both agreed.

Last week, a few days before his birthday, another old friend (S), who was unemployed before being put on pension credits had a visit from C. C showed S his new car, then suggested a drive. He drove to his house showed S his old car (though not nearly as old as S's, and in much better condition), and told S it was his!!

S couldn't believe it, and questioned the amount of money C would lose by not trading it in. C then informed S that A and P had given him 'X' amount, so he wouldn't be losing the total amount of the trade in, as all believed S needed a newer car!! :-D :-D :-D

S still can't believe his luck in having such wonderful friends.

I'm so proud philanthropy is not dead in my circle of friends and family :-D :-D
