Did you expect cracker jokes to be funny? :-D

Years ago, we were living in Germany. A crowd of us (Aussies, Americans, Canadians, Brits & some German friends) got together on Christmas Day.

Everybody brought something for lunch, and we had a great day, we also had a gift swap, one nice present and one daft one.

A few weeks before Christmas I was in England, so bought boxes of crackers. Only the Brits & Aussies knew what they were, everyone else was puzzled by them, especially the awful jokes. We tried explaining that it was traditional to have corny jokes in crackers, but they just thought it was silly.

My younger daughters are both taking part in the Reddit Secret Santa ( 219,000 have signed up)

Each chose an International recipient and have bought gifts for a girl in Romania and a young Serbian lad living in Switzerland.
My girls have bought personal gifts for each of them.
They wrapped their gifts and put then in the small packaging boxes that they bought at the Post Office
They have also added a small box of Christmas Crackers in their gift boxes which are being posted today.

As crackers contain a small amount of explosive, they can be sent through the post to either country, so long as they remain unopened, and in their original packaging.

Any space left in the boxes has been stuffed with Scottish tablet, macaroon bars, Tunnocks caramel logs and Edinburgh Rock !
