I just tip the young girl who delivers our newspapers because I know how grateful my kids were for Christmas tips when they did newspaper rounds. |

Up until two years ago we always tipped the postman because he was regular and very reliable. These days we have a string of different ones with one who is more constant and pleasant than others. I shall see if he is doing the rounds for another week before I decide. Other than that no. years ago used to tip the dustmen (now operatives or whatever). But then years ago they would collect the bins from and return them to the garden where they 'lived'. |

When my Husband was a Postman he used to get tips. They had to all take them back to the depot where they were pooled and then shared out according to rank. Shortly after this they were allowed to keep their own tips but were taxed on what the tax people thought they got so really it wasn't good for them to get tips. |
