Dear All

Hello

Hope you are okay.

I live in an area where there is a rich, diverse group of people.

Various religions or none.

But most of the people I know, whatever their faith, always use

"Merry Christmas".

Take gentle care
With best wishes
Elizabeth,
xx

Definitely, absolutely, definitely NOT "Happy Holidays!"
Perish the thought!
We give the correct name to the celebrations for other religions, do we not?
Why should Christmas be changed ... we were surely the first celebrating, methinks!

I (try to) explain to folk it's BECAUSE we celebrate Christmas there is a 'holiday' in the first place!

So there!!

I don't see any problem with saying Merry Christmas to anyone - it's not un-PC and all the nonsense posted on various social media sites just promotes ill feeling. When I speak to the few Muslim and Hindu people I know I wish them an enjoyable holiday season - they wish me a Merry Christmas.

Merry or Happy Christmas, not happy holidays or winter wishes for me.

Dermot that made me look twice as I am sure our beloved BC's Christmas name was Nollaig Shona or at least something similar.
