We are going out. OH having soup, roast suckling pig and turkey, roast potatoes, veg., stuffing, Christmas pudding and mincepie with coffee. Me I'm having fillet steak and salad.

Maggie - you are correct re Tesco branch. You are a crafty conniving grandma - one thing is true - the older you get the wiser you are. ;-)

Before I saw the Minion onesies, we were looking at Minion dressing up outfits. They were 3 times the price of the onesies, not much different (except they weren't cotton with a fleece lining) and not as practical :-D

I think it will be turkey as invited out,,,,,we dont like it so a very very tiny slice just to be polite and not putting any pressure on to cook something different just for 2....

We will be having turkey at our daughter, a fresh one is on order, there will be 7 of us.

As regards ham, we always when I was young, and since I was married have had gammon as well as turkey, one slice with Christmas lunch then lots to have cold later and the next day. At daughter we don't have it with lunch but do still have it cold in the evening.

well as my train driver son and nurse daughter in law have both pulled shifts for Christmas Day, both starting at 2:00 pm I shall be cooking a turkey dinner with all the trimmings - haven't had to cook a Christmas dinner for some years now so it'll be hard going - we're having a Christmas dinner at their on Boxing Day. I;ll be cooking for four of us, them, me and my son's mother in law

I went to Aldi's on Sunday and got a frozen turkey crown, also got four shells with smoked salmon and cream cheese - frozen - for starters, and one of their luxury Christmas puddings - great stuff in Aldi I must say. Have already made the Christmas cake which I have yet to decorate. Will be making the usual sherry trifle for Boxing Day

Oh, and I've made the stuffing -parsley and thyme, as I had lots of parsley in the garden

When they've gone I shall probably fall into a deep deep sleep as no doubt everything on TV will be a repeat

Well both the men in my life always hold the view - doesn't really matter Christmas Day but on Christmas Eve if there is not served homemade veg soup made with ham stock followed by homemade ham studded with cloves accompanied by fried egg and chips there would be a riot.

We went shopping yesterday, looked for a few Christmas bits & pieces

Looked at turkeys. Not a turkey breast in sight....... except for some in boxes, already marinated & spiced. YUK. Marinated in what? Spiced with what? Half of the listed ingredients I couldn't pronounce.

So we bought a turkey, frozen. Will feed 14 people. That should be enough for my DH.

There's only one supermarket in our town, we have to travel quite a way to find more shops.

There's a Fishermen's co-op not far from us.......... we'll get fresh prawns from there next week. :-D
