I always used to cook my pasta in a large plastic jug in the microwave. Do you have a slow cooker you could plug in for the bolognese sauce? Otherwise Det's idea is the way I would do it too

Enjoy

Microwaved food continues to cook after you've removed it.

I'd be inclined to cook the sauce, then the pasta then give the sauce a quick burst while the pasta is standing/ being drained and rinsed.

My steamer has a rice cooker, a shallow oval bowl that you fill with water and rice and put in the steamer.

I wonder if that would do pasta as well.

Why not have a little experiment when you are cooking something else in another tier.

Since no one with one has answered (added - whilst typing this) - according to this link, you can cook fresh pasta in a steamer, but not dried. Logic says that dried pasta needs to absorb a lot of water!

..............

You can cook dried pasta in a microwave. There are a number of internet search results. the basic instructions are to boil a kettle, 3/4 fill a large bowl with the water then add the pasta. DO NOT cover - do that at the end of the cooking time. Allow the pasta to stand in the bowl/water which you've covered in clingfilm. Drain and rinse with hot boiled water from the kettle.

OH adds a slug of olive oil before cooking as he thinks it stops the pasta from sticking together. IMO, it doesn't make any difference!
