im new to this site and have found out today that my sister is looking for me but the ad was put on in 2005 it says she has a member number but is there anyway I can find out if she still uses this site :-(

have you tried looking on Facebook?
I have found friends on there after not having contact with them for over 40 yrs.

Unfortunately there is no way to tell if a member is active.

If you have found an Ad (thread?) that she created, send her a message by clicking on her name. You can see if a message has been accessed by looking in your 'sent message' box. Unread ones have an envelope icon next to them. Hopefully she still uses the same registered email address and will receive notification from GR

If either of you were adopted, add your name to the adoption contact register and hope that she has too.

Helen the Nicola Halsey who posted is also on another tree, membership number on that thread I can look for her in trees, and the one with the matching number is born 1988, if that is correct there is at least one sibling I will message you the name. ( see 'messages' at top of page)
