We were living in Europe that year, went to Scotland for Christmas. We heard the news on our way to the airport.

Driving north, we weren't allowed to use the roads near Lockerbie, but the roads were open early in January.

I will never forget what we saw at Lockerbie.

May they all RIP <3

Emma <3 as long as I live I will remember that terrible day - two days after the incident occurred I drove past Lockerbie on my way to Eaglesfield, the devastation to the area was horrendous :-(

May all those who lost their lives as a result of the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 be R.I.P.<3 and my thoughts and prayers go out to all the families and friends who lost loved ones <3

We remember all those that died and all their relatives and friends.

We also give thanks to my husband's boss who stood down everyone a day early as testing had finished. OH was in Peterhead and his route home was via Lockerbie and because of the stand down he went through almost exactly 24 hours prior to the tragic crash.

OH believes he'd have just been approaching Lockerbie as the crash happened if he'd worked that day as expected.
