Rose,
it used to be just lilies and hyacinths, but now it is all flowers including lavender..if people buy them for me even tho' i have asked everyone not to i have to put them in a jug in the garden where i can see them from my kitchen window.

I can however keep orchids for some reason..just as well i love orchids..lol

:-)

Hi Stella I am ok with flowers but my friend mentioned above had some lilies given to her recently and they had the same effect, so I am careful when sending her flowers. She also can't have anything with lavender in ( air fresheners etc) she discovered.

Rose,

i can't use perfumed fabric softeners and i can't have flowers in the house.. it is surprising how everyday things can affect you..

Lavender, if you eat ready meals at all ( and that includes gravy, soups, sauces etc) have you checked the contents for garlic? My friend is allergic to it, with the symptoms you have also, and it is often used but way down on the list of ingredients on the packs

oh and as I put on here last year, seems many fabric conditioners even when thoroughly rinsed out close my throat and cause asthma like attacks, so may be worth looking at that also if you tend to have allergies ( I have bad hayfever).

i was recently diagnosed with asthma , only because i was rushed into hospital because i couldn't breath, 3 weeks of steroid tablets and a nebuliser sorted it out but my blood test revealed that i had 245 unspecified allergies.
They haven't done scratch test because i must have lots of allergies that the test doesn't cover.
Hope the one that put me in hospital doesn't flare up again.. :-0

Aww, Lavender, that's awful. I'm allergic to a few things, I know how you feel.

The allergy clinic should give you some skin tests (I wish they'd change the name of "prick test"!!). It doesn't hurt, but anything you're allergic to will show up as a small blister and be itchy. Don't worry about that, because they'll wipe it all when they're finished, you won't be scratching.

When they find out what you're allergic to, you'll probably be told what to avoid, or you may have to have a course of "de-sensitising" injections.

If it's a nasty allergy, PLEASE consider getting a medicalert bracelet.

I hope it gets sorted for you soon. Good luck <3

Does anybody suffer with allergies.

I've had this for 18 months now. It is difficult to work out what is causing it, but I think nuts and seeds may be part of the problem.

Symptoms are enlarged tongue, swollen lining of mouth, itchy skin on chest at times, tight throat etc.

Waiting for an appointment at the allergy clinic, be glad to get it sorted.

I'm too scared to fall asleep at times, so it keeps me awake.
