Travelling Sunday from L District to Gloucester, can anyone give an up to date report on the M5/M6 please. :-)

Conditions can change dramatically overnight.
For current conditions have you looked at the highways authority site? They may have web cams you can look at.

Current M5 southbound fine until after Manchester to Lichfield. Mainly due to heavy traffic.

M5 southbound, normal delays around the road works.

Dipping in to the traffic cams, there doesn't seem to be any snow conditions to worry about. Of course, it would sods law views that show it weren't the ones looked at.

As you are aren't crossing the Penines and are intending to travel on motorways, you'll probably be OK. Unless the forecast is for day time snowfalls, don't leave until the temps have had a chance to melt any icy and for the roads to be re-gritted if necessary.
