Have you seen the advert for blind children, overseas today

'JUST £120 can save/cure the blindness of children' (edit: of a child)

I'm all for giving to charity and have direct debits to my chosen ones.

I just think this is a little..............

And I do have compassion for ALL people who are in need, children/adults etc

Some time ago we got a call from a well known charity.

I told them we couldn't afford to give much.

They said "No problem $50 will do"......... :-(

Then asked for our credit card number, so that they could take $50 every month!

They didn't get the number.

If you gave money to every charity that asked, you'd need charity yourself.

We do give to charity, but now limit it to local ones, like the rescue helicopter & the surf lifesavers.

daughter and me always spent £2 each when the supermarket have there food
donations trolly

it may not be much but it always make us feel good to no we have done how little bit to help

I wish charities could feel able to return to the old collection boxes - then some of them might actually get some money from me!
