I repeat this most years. An extract from King George 6th broadcast from the thirties.

And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year "Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown". He replied "Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That to you, is better than light and safer than a known way".

Happy days and new year to all.

Happy birthday also to every racehorse in the country who will be a year older at midnight tonight.
