......I haven't got a car, and my shed fell down :-(

So far, one full bin, that won't be emptied until next Thursday.
Box of stuff upstairs in already overstuffed spare room (charity)
Box of stuff under table (possible bin, possibly back in kitchen)
3 x bin bags in garden full of non-perishable (stuff from cupboard, like roasting tins) awaiting the bin or dump.

Haven't finished yet, and am about to visit my daughter, neighbour comes in to feed the cats, so I had to clear things up. This has led to 'stuff' under the sofa - mainly garden tools.

Whilst we were clearing out the unused bedroom, middle daughter decided to clear her own out at the same time.

Our garage is stacked high with bags and boxes ready to be taken to the recycling centre.
Although I have a large 7 seater 4x4 which converts to a flatbed, there is so much stuff that it will take two, possibly three trips to offload it.

Last Night....
Daughter No1 is getting new carpets fitted today .
OH went to her house to help lift the old ones.
What did he do with them?
He filled MY car with them...... that's another car load to take to the dump tomorrow!

Dizzi,
I haven't reached the food cupboards yet - I was removing stuff from the back of the cupboards that I have neither seen nor used for years. :-(
...and washing what was left.
Have decided I don't need 4 roasting tins. Never use the trays, don't need 2 huge pots etc.

You all make me feel guilty. lol. I fully intended to do most of the above jobs all you gals have done or are in the process of doing after xmas. But hubby was in hospital until xmas eve and hasn't been well since, thankfully he is now on the mend, and I haven't been too well either. I get up in the morning thinking 'todays the day I start' then something goes wrong. Oh well I WILL get round to doing all those jobs one day. (fingers crossed) :-S :-S

IF YOU CLEANED OUT YOUR FOOD CUPBOARDS HOW MUCH WAS OUT OF DATE,I HAD LOADS LAST TIME,

maggiewinchester Report 8 Jan 2015 00:07

I decided to paint my kitchen on Saturday. It's smallish, I cleaned the cupboards, cleared the rubbish off the top, cleared as much of the worktop as I could and painted the ceiling and 3 of the walls.
Sunday I finished the last wall, which meant moving the microwave, and the rubbish from down beside the fridge freezer.
Spent 2 hours and 4 cups of tea trying to remove the old blinds. Put new blinds up.
Monday I spent another 2 hours and 3 cups of tea cleaning the gunk off the light - a pole with 4 spotlights on it. pulled out fridge freezer, cleaned said thing, and painted wall. Did the same with washing machine. Then decided to clear out the cupboards.................
I now can't move in either the living room or kitchen :-(

Didn't do anything today, as I had to go out.

Tomorrow, I've got to make a cauliflower cheese and stew to freeze, as, having bought the food, I then finalised visiting my daughter this weekend (had check 'cat lady' could feed my cats), I wasn't going to waste food.
Ought to move cooker to clean behind and paint. Kitchen floor needs clearing and washing, living room needs clearing, vacuuming, and floor washing, and I've still got 6 cupboards to sort out! :-(

Bag to pack, washing & ironing to do............

Oh tell me about it......"I will just put that there for now" is a sentence much used in my house......I have been rather good over Christmas though and spent the time sifting cleaning and sorting. I didn't throw much away but the other well repeated sentence including the words "organised Chaos " came into play.

I do like the sentence......."I wouldn't have found that if I was looking" that was voiced many a time in my frenzy of cleaning over the Christmas period.

The other sentence " I'll do it tomorrow" has just come back from holiday though :-(

I have been painting all the woodwork over the last 2 days but, yesterday before 3 pm, it was so dark that I could no longer see what I was doing.
The overhead light ( no shade) just cast shadows.

I got up early this morning but as the room is north facing, there was very little natural light in the room.

It's wild outside, with stong winds and rain and it's pretty dark.

As I have so little natural light to work in, I have been painting a panelled door in small sections, then shine a hand held L.E.D light on the area to checking for patches!

I would like the room finished by the weekend but as this rate, it looks as if it isn't going to happen!

I know exactly how you feel Dizzi,

I'm only one step ahead of you!
Daughter moved out at Easter and took all the furniture from her bedroom.
I knew if we didn't redecorate and furnish it straight away that an empty room in this house would become a dumping ground... and that's exactly what happened.

Over the last two days, we have cleared the clutter, emptied the 2 double wardrobes ( Both stuffed full of things she doesn't want ) and spread the contents onto the floor.
We have made pile each for Charity/Bin/Council tip/ KEEP)

Whilst I have been repainting the inside of the robes, OH has been shredding the contents of dozens of box files and folders that she had piled high in the cupboards.
Just chuck them out she said!!!!
10 years supply of school and Uni work, bank statements, diaries and a million other things,...
The amassed paperwork alone has filled 10 bin bags so far and there's still a long way to go.
Hundreds of now empty poly pockets have already filled 2 large box files.

This is all before we clear the Christmas decs!

It's coffee time again for me too
