As Apple does not allow Flash Player to be downloaded
I need to download a Video Player to view the majority
cards on Jacquie Lawson site, but which one?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

You don't need any sort of video player to view Jacquie Lawson cards. You don't even have to sign on!

Just go into the site, choose the type of card you want to see from the list on the left, then select the card you are interested in and click on Preview.

I think it's a brilliant site and for those who haven't seen it , here is the link

Emma, if I have misunderstood your query, I apologise.

My iPad does not let me view most of the cards Andysmum,
OK if you have flash player but as I said Apple do not allow
this.
You need to pay to send these cards.
Thank you anyway for your post :-)

Any computer or smartphone needs a Flash media player installed to see flash content such as animated cards. If you send one of the animated cards the recipient will also need a flash player. Personally I think they are naff beyond belief but it takes all sorts.

Most computers running windows get Flash player installed at some point. It will not run on any Apple device.

For Apple devices one way around is to use a Flash server which renders the flash back to the local machine. Here is one which works fine over wifi/LAN

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/puffin-web-browser-free/id472937654?mt=8

Android also does not support Flash. However the .apk file can be installed using "sideways" installation and Dolphin browser supports Flash.

Apple refuse to support Flash on the basis that it is a close proprietary product. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

good luck

Thank you Rollo.

You do make me laugh at times you think it's naff but still
offer help, so true it takes all sorts...thank goodness, how
bored we would be if all the same. :-D :-D :-D

Thanks again.

You do pay to send the cards but really good value £7.50ish for a year unlimited cards. I only really use it at Christmas and if for some reason I am unable to send a proper card. This year my Ipad seemed to support most of the cards I was sent, I think only one wouldn't play.

AnninGlos Report 4 Jan 2015 16:32

Actually I am wondering if Jaqui Lawson has half solved the problem because when the latest new card came out they apologised because they didn't have it in a version able to be played on the Ipad.

Ann I did read that they were trying to solve problem
but it would take time.
They are working on old cards as they are still popular..

Still quite a few I can't view due to what I have mentioned.

Maybe they are a bit naff, but I like them and the grandchildren love them.

I send them to people abroad, and by the time you have added the postage, I have more than had my money's worth.

I love getting them Andysmum and can open those,
just this year became a member and have sent some
as a trial which turned out well..will be sending more :-)

It is a whole lot harder to create multimedia content without using Flash.

The only people selling reasonably ez2use tools are Adobe who are also the Flash OEM. Certainly Apple are not helping the tools to develop for Apple system have always been horrendous. That said Apple iPad/iPhone apps are easier than Android.

Must be quite a shock for the card site 'cos Flash is really, really ez.

'Emma' Report 4 Jan 2015 18:45

I agree Rollo and was shocked that Apple did
not support Adobe...others like me who are not
up to the ins and outs of what is the best buy and
easiest have to settle for what they have.
Saying that I like my Apple iPad.

A tesco Huddle2 is much better value for money though.

'Emma' Report 4 Jan 2015 19:14

See you know about these things Rollo so easy for you,
me and many others don't, so went for the name and it serves
my purpose apart from Adobe Flash Player :-D

I use a flash player on my iPad to play Farmville.

To do it I went to the App Store and downloaded a free browser called Photon

When I want to tend my farm, or use any other games needing Flash, I open Photon and click on the Lightning flash symbol on the top right next to the black cog. This opens the flash streaming session. I then just go to facebook and enter the games through here as normal. If anyone else plays Farmville that lets you get the full site rather than the useless Farmville express

I don't know if Photon is any better than the other site suggested, but it is the one I use with no problems
