They are both of a similar age to myself. M and I started school together and Fred's mate is only 66.

We are a bit like a group of hippies sometimes I think and poor old Fred had to be a hippy with us, man!

as long as he make a good job of it i would say let him get on with it

unlike me i have to do all mine my self with no help
my 4 boys and old man will willingly stand there watching and give me advise on how i should do things

sit back and put your feet up and just make the tea when needed

Exploit is the word you are looking for I think Ann.

Fred's mate does the garden.

I can't believe my luck!

Lol Sharron one of your lame ducks. You are doing him a favour because he feels needed. Humour him and use the time saved for something you enjoy. :-)

Last time this house was decorated I did it, apart from the ceilings because OH is 6' 8".When the floors were originally sanded, I did it all myself with a belt sander.

Our friend M (three wheeler, digs bottles, Polish are living in the electricity sub-station) has come on the scene, taking over things I start and moaning incessantly about it and how it is affecting his arthritic knee.

I started sanding the front room floor because the wheelchair had taken the varnish off half the floor and it looked like a shed. I was doing it a number of boards at a time so that we could step over them while they dried and not have the inconvenience of not using the room.

Not only did he take on the role of varnisher but he turned up with a duck board he had constructed so that I could sand more boards at a time (like I don't get bored with doing it!).

We are doing the bedroom, we have the paint and, yesterday, M rang to instruct me as to what I needed to move and by which day so that he can get the walls done or else they won't be done all because he has a blood test and he has to go shopping and mind peoples business and all the myriad important tasks he needs to perform.

I like emulsioning, I don't mind varnishing floors.

Would anybody like me to come round and do some because I am not going to be able to do my own!
