Shocking - we caught a very brief mention of this on the car radio, but assumed it was a retrospective item.

Thank goodness that so many Islamic organisations have condemned the assult. French residents/nationals of minority faiths are being targetted by racists as it is. This is only going to make the sitution worse.

Ah, the spelling used has a very different meaning.

Suicide bombing is always a chilling mystery & a desolating act.

Rambling Report 7 Jan 2015 16:11

Presumably as the French for Muslim, "musulman". ( not the context knew the word in at first glance, but with different spelling)

This extremely grave barbaric action is also an attack against democracy and the freedom of the press" - French Muslim Council (CFCM)

Quote Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi strongly condemns the terrorist attack on Charlie Hebdo newspaper in Paris" - Arab League

QuoteWhomever the attackers are, and whatever the cause may be, nothing justifies the taking of life" - Muslim Council of Britain

Al-Azhar, Sunni Islam's most prestigious centre of learning, condemned the "criminal attack," saying that "Islam denounces any violence", while Egypt's leading Islamic authority, Al-Azhar, also condemned the attack as a "criminal act" on its Facebook page"

So plenty of condemnation from all sides, and of course no one knows the religion of the posters of the many comments being made condemning this terrible act.

Muselman? Not sure in which context you are using that.

The mood in Paris is for the most part that the terrorists burn eternally in hell their souls are beyond forgiveness. The attack on Charlie Hebdo goes beyond murder it is an attack on the very soul of France.

The interior ministry has been alerted to a possible attacks on schools so now they are all shut in the Ile de France, no parking anywhere near.

On top of everything else the French sales start today so Paris is full of shoppers looking for a bargain. Huge security at Galeries Lafayette, Printemps, r. Faubourg St Honere and so on .....

I just hope that there will be some very strong condemnation of this barbarism from the Muselman side but I am not holding my breath.

My God rest their souls and comfort those who are left to suffer and mourn . Words seem so inadequate at such a time. My sincere sympathies with our dear friends in Paris.

13:32 - point of view of a Parisenne

Good day (?),
This is an abominable act ... to wish to extinguish the (free) press by force of arms est is an act both odious and cowardly.
These cartoonists, these journalists are the victims of barbarians who claim a god wno cannot open (to them) the gates of paradise but only a place where they will burn in hell. They will burn one day soon perhaps in the eternal flames since their is no pardon for these criminals without pity or scruple ... (original follows sorry for any trans. errors)

Bonjour,
