DH cooks sometimes, but he makes a terrible mess!

I leave him to it...... he does the dishes but I always check the pots & pans he uses, because he doesn't scour them properly.

His main "crime" is leaving splatter marks all over the cooktop & splashback! He often manages to get splashes on the rangehood!

:-(

Vera, much the same here. O.h. always cooked so his lads washed up, no dishwasher here. Then the lads moved out, later I spent more time here. I found that o.h. would use far too many utensils and pans etc and I was expected to clear up after when he cooked. When I retired I seemed to end up cooking all the time yet most of the time he will just sit there afterwards and I wash up too. If I leave it he will wash up but not properly so I have to redo it, makes me furious but his argument is that I don't work now and he still has some years to go! He is 7 yrs younger than me.

If I go away he ends up getting takeaway or convenience food.

DH "helps" me.

Halfway through making dinner, he starts washing up and "tidying".

He hand washes things that can go in the dishwasher, and piles them up on the draining board or in the sink (we have a double sink). I have to dance around him to get to things, and often find my stirring spoons have disappeared, then there isn't a sink to drain things into.......... drives me mad!

But........ he's helping

Amazing isn't it?
I've noticed that women use as few a pots, pans, dishes as possible, whilst men use as many as possible!!! :-|

the one who cooks our evening meal gets to relax while the other one clears up. When I cook OH loads the dishwasher, maybe washes an occasional pan and just wipes the work surface. So why is it that when he cooks I have to spring clean the kitchen.? :-(
