I hope you get it all sorted Shirley.
Looks like I`m going to need a couple of reams of paper and more ink cartridges for the printer. :-(

More expenses, C'est la vie :-)

That does sound interesting Budgie

I have found a glitch though on my 2006 version as grandson somehow deleted the file that opens up the FTM I fortunately had put it onto a memory stick so was able to recover most of it but still finding .or not finding some of the lines I had put in the later version . Still updating as I find the missing bits

Very annoying but the lad does have learning problems and although seems to be whizz on the PC he can click around hoping to get where he wants and then deletes so I wont know how many Justins House files he has saved and printed out .

So my fault really although He couldn't actually get in FTM he somehow managed to muck it up a bit

I tried to download it back from Ancestry but it didnt work

So a bit more work needed before I try the serious stuff lol ;-)

I`m afraid my old comp complete with 2006 FTM program was resigned to the great "Recycle Bin" in the outer ether. :-D :-D :-(
(I still have a Gedcom on DVD of it)

Been using 2010 for some time now. I have finally finished doing my tree to my satisfaction.
So I decided to turn all my info into print, in the form of Book volumes.

The first Book is My Ancestral one, only 7-8 generations. (Maternal side only)
Its pretty simplistic and includes pedigree charts and index. (a total of 30 pages).

Now the next lot of info covering all 4774 relatives, that's spouses, cousins, census stuff and notes etc, etc. is going to be 659 pages, hence splitting into 8 volumes, one for each pair of 3xgreat grandparents and their known descendants.

Not going to bother with a tree chart for that lot ..works out at 876 A4 size sheets. (Stupid size)

Ps it aint easy going if you take it on sweetie, BUT you end up with printed subject matter as well as downloaded discs/sticks.

Did notice that before any of the books are printed off you can make alterations and updates in your FTM program and they will automatically be altered or added in the books prior to printing.

Hi

No I havent used that .I have uploaded the tree to Ancestry and downloaded it again from Ancestry to the 2010 version.

To be honest I am still using my PC with Windows XP and the 2006 version .

I am not using the laptop with windows 7 on it as I find it difficult to get around on it

I do though add any new finds to the 2010 version on the laptop if I find them

Re; FTM 2010

Shirley,(hope I have the right person) .

We spoke some while back on the merits of FTM versions, and we both thought that at that time the 2006 version we were both using was better than the 2010 version, but we agreed to persevere with the latter.

Just wanted to know, if you had used the "Publish" tab and constructed a Ancestral tree, in book form?
