I've always been on standard membership and have never purchased credits so had no need to look at my credit history until now.
I can only assume my credit 'history' is yet another quirk of GR :-S

Payment Date Total Credits Purchased Credit Expiry Date Remaining Credits
18/07/2012 8950 18/07/2013 0
27/10/2011 30 27/04/2013 0
02/06/2010 840 01/01/0001 0
08/06/2011 4260 01/01/0001 0
23/07/2013 4710 01/01/0001 0

Doesn't paste well! :-S

You may have just answered part of this puzzle

Pay Per View credit purchase history
Payment Date Total Credits Purchased Credit Expiry Date Remaining Credits
27/10/2011 30 27/04/2013 0
22/03/2013 50 21/04/2013 0
17/01/2011 246 01/01/0001 0
04/07/2011 127 01/01/0001 0
17/01/2012 390 01/01/0001 0

Seems the ones I bought were 30 from 27/10/2011 for 18 months? and 20 from 22/03/13 for 6 months. So where are all my free credits including the ones due to expire on 17/01/2015

You can ignore the credits in your account that say they expired on 01/01/01. That, I believe, is a fault in the display software, which should omit those lines..

I seem to remember something about the 50 free credits being awarded when you purchase more.

Thanks all, I have been a standard member since 2008 and have bought and saved records (on computer) but I can never recall having been "in credit" following renewal
It states expiry of credits expire at renewal date yet I have no credits available no free viewing can not recall last time I viewed a record and my membership is not due to renew again until the 17th. So I will make a point of checking in a few days

drummo, on this site you need to save records to your computer when you view them, otherwise you have to pay again next time.

Records purchased with credits have a shelf life, Once the credits lapse, any records purchased are also inaccessible. This also applies if you had previously had a Platinum Subscription which you have not renewed. Ancestry, one of GR's main rivals has the same policy.

If you look at the top of this page on the very first line, it will say
Gifts. Upgrade. Credits [ and the number you have available]

Going in to ' account' will tell you when they were purchased or award and expire.
Unless you have links to records in your Keepsafe, I don't think its possible to work out what records you've purchased with them

GR can be contacted at [email protected]

I have hundreds of expired credits I do know that I bought some but not hundreds Yet in my "saved records" I have a mix of 10 census, birth or death records but if I press to view I am asked to purchase more credits so where are the records that I have bought, should they not be somewhere to view free if i have already bought them
PS how do I contact the GR support team I have been going round in circles trying to find email address

Up until a couple of months ago I had always been a platinum member; so I have never bought or been awarded any credits. But there are hundreds of thousands of credits showing up on my credit history, going back several years. :-S

Go into your account and then click on credit details and it will tell you how many credits you have purchased

Mine shows credits now expired that I have never bought so must be the free ones awarded at renewal

Am I reading the 6 month renewal of standard membership correctly It appears to state that on renewal you are awarded 50 credits to view records. If that is correct i did not think I have had these credits on previous renewals although ?I have visited my account and viewed credit history and have been surprised at how many credits I have supposed to have purchased and all appear to have lapsed. Is there anywhere i can view what i have bought or been awarded and when and on what I spent these credits on
