Well I enjoyed it once my eyes were accustomed to the gloom. The costumes were excellent as was Mark Ryeland's portrayal of Cromwell. Looking forward to the next episode

I have recorded it to watch this evening. I gather from your remarks that it is worth watching (I have not read the book yet. but I have it on Kindle.)

Thankyou for bringing this series to my attention Emms :-) :-) <3

I love historical dramas, and as OH hogs the TV with his Reality TV documentary channel programmes from 9 o' clock, I would not have known.

I will either record or download it on catch-up tv, if he has 2 programmes on the go at that time :-D :-D :-D

Like you Rollo, I also hope the series is as
entertaining as the books.

The Tudors were a bunch of desperadoes with a next to non existent claim to the throne. Thomas Cromwell was their chief enforcer. He came to a sticky end though, along with others of his ilk (Thos. Wolsey, Thos. More )

I hope the series is as entertaining as the books. The executive methods of govt used by the Tudors make "Silent Witness" look like the vicerage tea party. No doubt Teresa May will be watching avidly picking up tips on how to terrify friends and delete the opposition..

The main conclusions are that dating sites and match makers should be honest with the pictures they use while if your name is Thomas watch yr back.

The more or less legal line was restored with James I ... for a while.

My umpteenth grandmother was one of the Beauforts which always adds a frisson of interest to these tales of dark doings at the end of the Middle Ages ;-)

ah ... January February always come around but tv drama saves us from the boredom of dark freezing days.

Author of Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies.

A six part series starts Wednesday 21st BBC2 at 9pm

For those who haven't read the books it is about Henry 8th and
Thomas Cromwell, and Henry's dependence on Cromwell.

How BC would have loved this as she and I spoke of our enjoyment
in reading these books.

Always remembered Mo <3
