Sky Diving

it's a sudden stop if the chute doesn't open!

We see skydivers often....... there's a small airport about 10 minutes drive away, a skydive company is based there................ and we see the chutes in the sky.....which makes driving dangerous because of the eejit drivers watching the divers, and the possibility a gust of wind may blow a diver onto the road.

Driving in Australia is far more risky.

Heights don't bother me........... but the sudden stop at the end does.

Nah, not doing it!

I don't want another heart attack :-(

are waterproof pants available that can withstand all that wind.......... errr........the wind up in the sky, not wind in my belly or whatever.

Been up the spinnaker - actually walked over the glass floor - helped by a 4 year old grand daughter.
Have a plentiful supply of sloworms in my 'eco-friendly' (unkempt/shabby-chic) garden :-D

We have slow worms ( for Oz readers a lizard with no legs ). My fav. last year was a golden one. There are lots of the common lizard in south hands though sadly they are a lot less common then they used to be.

'ere you go flying lizards, money everything you need

I like lizards.
I don't like heights.

Fear of flying ?

It's great fun, all downhill, no lizards.
If you are a beginner then you'll not jump solo anyway.
Oz is a much better place for it than the UK where wind and weather can be a problem.

Army parachuting is no fun at all you jump at an 'orrible low altitude with a not very controllable chute and then, if you are by some chance in one piece and not flattened by pack & gun, you'll have an 'orrible sgt major yelling at you pips on the shoulder or not.

Definitely not for me - and I'm not 60 yet!!

Wouldn't have done it in my 40's either :-(

No thanks :-(

Friends are going to leap out of a plane...... and asked us to join them.

DH isn't fond of heights (he won't sit in the window seat on a plane), and I don't fancy it at all (I might have considered it 30 years ago :-D )

Friends said to me...... "Come on, you're young and healthy" :-S :-S :-S :-S

Young? Healthy? I'm nearly 65, have lupus, arthritis & bursitis.... and a dicky ticker!!!

Compared to some, I guess I am young and healthy.

btw....... the friends are in their 40s...... I told them "go for it" :-D I'm not leaping out of a plane.
