Hello All,
Can anyone find any information on the above hotel. I've found one reference in Slaters Directory (1858 - 1859) and one record of William Thomas in the London Gazette facing bankruptcy in 1860. Any information would be useful.
Thanks
Paul

Nothing in particular. Just trying to gain an overall idea of it's history.
Thanks

Bute Terrace is in the docks area of Cardiff - now called Cardiff Bay - most immigrants and seafarers living there - now rather more upmarket

If you can identify where Bute Terrace was, may be there are some photos pre-redevelopment

there's a whole set of books called "Cardiff Yesterday" written by Stewart Williams containing thousands of photographs from the past in Cardiff - I have just three of them - I'll check them out

no luck with the three books I have, but there are 36 of them altogether so I would imagine one of them has a picture

If you have a library card you can access the 19th Century Newspapers in your local library via their website.

I have had a look and there are 17 references to the hotel.
All in the Western Mail newspaper.

Hope this helps.
