Certainly bought back memories, Lavender. A lot of it was what was gleaned when mum and I persuaded my sister (the only one who could drive) that she REALLY wanted to go on a genealogical hunt in Suffolk!
:-D :-D

Rollo - Yes, Bishop Michael died in September last year. Lou asked my daughter to attend the funeral.
My daughter worked for him for a few years in the late 1990's/early 2000's.

Either that was a wasted hour, or a wonderful finding of 'lost' treasures.
Yesterday, I realised I hadn't put the Christmas tree in the attic, but in the bedroom.
I decided it could go under my bed, Whilst there, I pulled a large plastic box out. Decided to see what was in there.
Loads of stuff, including a carrier bag of old bills/statements, a carrier bag of old genealogical stuff, couple of manila folders. I kept the above, threw out the rest and cleaned the box.
I also cleaned 3 doors etc ready to paint them.

I went upstairs to get my painting clothes on, then realised I should put the stuff from yesterday back in the box.
First, I had to go through it.

It was amazing! Genealogical stuff from 15 years ago. Notes, suppositions, about who married who - now resolved - photocopies of certificates from mum (I now have the originals), bits from my ex's tree I'd forgotten I'd done, patterns for the Elizabethan outfits I made for my daughters and I in 1990(still have the outfits), letter from the (then) Bishop of Winchester (Bishop Michael Scott-Joynt) inviting her to tea, (must give it to her) and an interview with my lovely dad in 1981.

...now to get my painting clothes on - so called because they're covered in paint!!!!
