have to share this - watching James Martin on Saturday Kitchen yesterday morning - a chef made cheat's ice cream - slice bananas and freeze - then mix with crème fraiche - looked brill - have just put some sliced bananas in the freezer - will keep you posted - it's virtually fat free as well :-D |

Creme fraiche has 30-45% butterfat! That's more than whipping cream. |

absolutely scrummy!!! such a lot from one banana and a dessertspoonful of crème fraiche - reckon it would be a good way to use raspberries or any soft fruit!!! |

Sounds lovely, particularly the idea of freezing it to be a homemade ice cream. But if any of you are a bit perturbed by the fat content of crème fraiche! the taste of fat free plain yoghurt is nearly the same, and we use it all the time instead of cream, it does set off the sweetness of bananas and berries beautifully, I have it every day for breakfast with sliced bananas - unfrozen! Mind I intended to have a look at the description of the lower fat crème fraiche next time I'm in the sujpeermarket |
