That's what I was thinking, Ann :-(

BUT if they're solar fed - at least Sharron won't be paying money for heating at the wrong time :-D

I expect they've improved over the pas 30-odd years.

There you are Sharron, every cloud..........

We used to have storage heaters, not solar panel fed though. Hated them always seemed warm when we didn't need them and cold when we did.

It is all happening at once but I have found a whole load of my old patchwork stuff that I am planning to get stuck into when we are straight.

Once the workmen have gone, you will see it all in a new perspective :-D
Sofas in front of a source of heat are very cosy.

I think so.

Are the storage heaters connected to the solar panels?
Seems a very old fashioned way of heating a house.

Things have been shifted around all day.

I have one storage heater in the back bedroom and there is one going in the front bedroom tomorrow.

There are three more to go somewhere which is pretty much like having five double- deckers parked indoors.

M has decided I am going to be evicted because he heard me telling the fitter I would be having them out before long.

The immersion is going and there is going to be some sort of wonderful contraption installed in the alcove in the front bedroom to heat the water.

I may as well take the furniture down the tip, there is not going to be much room for it.

In Oz, they're called "dunny dollies"

usually made by ladies of the CWA (Country Women's Association)

water tank in the front room?

Is there space on the top for an aspadistra?

Sharron

Sharron Report 19 Jan 2015 09:40

The stuff in the front room needs to be moved because we are going to have the hot water tank in there.

I was going to have a bath this morning too!

No I can't get in there and lock the door because it doesn't have one until I get the floor sanded.

It will be worth it (I think) when it is all finished.

Plumber, sparks in the kitchen. I was going to get in the bath but the man from the solar panels wants to come upstairs.

He will have a shock when he does!

I am just enjoying some toast and savouring the last bit of peace we will be having for a while.

At eight the kitchen fitters are due to arrive, as are the men who will be fitting the solar panels the housing association are providing.

Because of this,we decided we would hit the scrimpings and replace our bed while sales were on. This comes on 3rd February so we have had to clear and decorate the back bedroom, where we sleep.

The wet room is full of pots, pans, jars, tins and who knows what. I have two freezers in the front room, bookshelf in the bathroom and the front bedroom, which has held a desk and three seater sofa since Fred's stroke eight years ago, is practically impenetrable, it has two very large wardrobes in it.

The solar panel men are meant to be fitting storage heaters. I hope they can find a place!
