I get loads of these and usually just delete them but this one didn't come from those nice men in Nigeria. It was supposedly from Tesco.

I was suspicious straight away as it was sent to an old email address of mine that isn't used much now. It invited me to fill in the attached customer satisfaction survey. In return I would be rewarded with, in their words, £100 debit*.

Needless to say I didn't open the attachment but I think a few people might get pulled in. The wording is a bit stilted but in better English than a lot of these scams and the one spelling mistake could just as easily have been a typo.

I expect, like most of the scam emails, it has been doing the rounds for years but it is the first time I have seen it. I have sent an email to Tesco Direct to inform them.

What will they come up with next?

What annoys me is it is obvious they are attempting to defraud but it is just ignored.
If somebody tries to pick your pocket in the high street or is caught by the police "going equipped to steal" with housebreaking equipment they can be prosecuted.

I had a phone call from Tesco this afternoon to say that a number of people have reported this and it is definitely a scam. They are looking in to it. They were very apologetic but I don't think it is their fault. It didn't even come on the email address that they have for me.
