Apparently, there's been an earthquake (about 6:30pm) in Winchester!!
Well, not really an earthquake, just a series of tiny earth tremors.

I didn't feel a thing!!

First I knew was when my daughter texted me - I thought there'd been a 'quake where she lives.

All my decorations are still on the shelves, no books have fallen off the bookshelves.

There was more movement this morning when George (cat) got excited and was running and jumping over the furniture!!

I didn't feel it either Maggie. I was in Winnall at Tesco's. :-)

Looking back, at the time, one of my cats (George again) was being a pain in the wotsit - extremely excited - but that may have been the wind - by that I mean the wind outside.............................
not mine :-0

To be honest, any bus/lorry that goes past makes my house shake.

Did you feel any 'aftershock' rumbles?

I'm just over a mile south of there.

Kay????

There was a rumble in Leicestershire last night apparently it was felt quite a distanc in other counties......something must be happening way down. :-)

Maggie, I didn't feel anything at the time of the tremor or after. I work at Tesco's and customers were coming in and telling us but there was nothing up our way. They say animals know before us as they can sense these things. My first thought, was are they fracking locally?

You can find out if you had one in your area recently from this list:

Thank you for that Kense :-D

LL, initially, they said the epicentre was South Wonston way - then changed it to Winnall. Maybe we were too near the epicentre to feel the full effect :-D

The Winchester pics site on Facebook has some hilarious comments.

Glad to hear you are OK Maggie and you too Lainey.
Relatives near North Walls didn't feel it either.

I remember when we had 2 reasonable size quakes in Folkestone area a few years back. I felt nothing although some areas experienced quite a bit of damage.
