Hi I'm new to this site and would appreciate some help. I'm trying to locate a birth certificate of someone born after 2006. Is that possible on this site? If not, how do you go about it.

Welcome to the boards Pauline. Events after 2006 aren't available on line anywhere.

If you know the date of birth, you can order from http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ specifying that you don't know the gro reference or from the Registry where the birth was registered..

As this is related to the birth of a minor, they won't issue it unless you have the dob plus some additional details which would be on the BC eg full name, and possibly full name of a parent *as it appears on the certificate*

copies of the gro index are held in various places around the country - even if you found the reference number, you'd still need the DOB.

Hi Pauline,

In short,, No, the indexes arent online for England or Wales.

The only place where you might find the birth announcment is in a local paper.
