I find, with labels that are sewn in as part of the garment, that they can usually be cut off. Use a small, sharp pair of scissors (nail scissors) and cut as close to the stitching as you can without cutting the actual stitches. The tiny bit of label that is left can often be pulled out of the stitching without damaging the garment.

Worth a try, as the label won't show any more even if you can't get the last bit out.

that label is appearing to be similar to what is on the inside of meat labels(price/weight etc)........electrical stuff
another one is Wickes all their products have one in the wrapper.......

it works as you go through the electronic gates at the exits to the store.........the gate sends a radio signal, and if the gadget hasn't been cancelled, then it sets of the shoplifting alarm......have you noticed the till person rub the garment, over a patch on the till table? that kills the label device.....

It looks like the black label was sewn on at the same time they did the neck!

Unbelievable.

I don't wear it very often...... it's calf length, with lots of lace inserts, and it's made of linen.

a right b*gga to iron..... and I hate ironing :-(

I had a very fine knit cream cardie the same, LadyScozz. It was dressy enough to wear on smart occasions but had the same nasty black label stitched in firmly at the neckline.

Sometimes, they can be unpicked with one of the those seam rippers used for sewing, but occasionally they garment comes adrift at the same time. Irritating.

It was a bra....... the extra label was bigger than the label with size etc on it.

:-S

I bought a nice white dress last summer........ with a great big black label at the neckline! You can see the label through the fabric. Why do they do this? It's sewn on very securely, I'm sure if I try to pick it off I'll damage the dress.

Some garment labels are unbelievably scratchy. I have to snip them off, trying not to cut the clothing in the process.

M and S bra labels were so sharp the last couple of years, the most recent ones seem ok. I've wondered if they had complaints? Nuisance though as you don't know which size they were when replacing!

I found a label on a garment..... couldn't understand why it was there, I've never seen anything like it before.

Cut it off, and it felt a bit lumpy..... opened it up, and found a stick-on patch, silver in colour with black lines on it, going around the outside, doesn't look like the usual barcode.

What's this? Is it the latest thing to stop shoplifting? What's to stop sneaky thieves having a pair of scissors with them?
