we had another rain storm overnight, and the next is on its way .............. I can see the very dark clouds off to the southwest.

I hope that will be the last!

The forecasters seem to think that we will only gt the northern edge of this next storm ..................... which means that Kitimat and the northern towns should not get much more snow, if any.

It seems that everyone is safe up there, no reports of tragedies ................... but those without power are cold.

Knowing the north, many, if not most, of the houses will have wood stoves in addition to central heating so should have some heating.

But cooking will be difficult ............. plus most of them will have very full freezers so hopefully they will not lose much of the meat in there

Washington State, south of us, is expected to get the brunt of the next storm ............... and they already have some terrible flooding from the earlier storms.

Oh goodness, we know nothing here do we. Excellent video though, really gave a feel for the situation.

Sylvia I hope the storms are not going to affect you and anyone else in the area, stay safe. :-)

we have just had the 4th in a series of subtropical storms go through here ................ straight across the Pacific from south of Hawaii.

We had very heavy rain ................ but other parts of the province have been affected by a cold front coming down from Alaska that met up with the rain storm.

A place called Kitimat on the north coast, about 400 miles north of here, got almost 6' (that's FEET) of snow between Thursday evening to Saturday morning

Another nearby community got about 4-5' in the same period

Both places have serious power outages caused by snow breaking the lines or tree branches falling on the lines. It's going to take several days to get power back to everyone.

The 5th subtropical storm rolls in for us tomorrow (Sunday) .... that's the 5th this WEEK

here's a link if you want to see what that looks like .....

the power is still out to many residents .......... and it is cold

scroll down on this site for a wonderful photo of the view when the door was opened :-) ...............
