Hello

I have a relative Peter Carroll born circa 1863 and his brother was Michael b.1870 both in Dublin. According to Michael's marriage certificate in 1895 their father Peter Carroll was a cooper journeyman, deceased.

I have Peter Carroll on 1891 census in Northowram, Yorkshire born Ireland.
Can't find him in 1901 census.
In 1911 census he lived in Halifax and was born in Dublin Ireland.

Michael Carroll in 1901 census was in Halifax and born Dublin, Ireland.
I have a 1911 census for Michael Carroll, living in Halifax, which states the Dublin Parish he is from but I cannot work out the text.

I would be most grateful is someone could look at the census record and see if you could work out the parish name? I think it is something like St M Hugh or St M St gh but cannot work out a parish name similar to that. The family were Catholics.

Thanks
David

I think it is St M's ( St Michaels? or St Mary's) St gh? ( Ancestry)

edit , it could be Parish St M's and St jhs ( St Johns? )

Hi Rambling Rose
Thanks for your suggestion looking at the writing with that in mind does seem to be correct and I have found this link which seems to confirm it

Hi AnnCardiff

There are a number of aspects about these Carrolls I need to find, one was the parish name the others are around Peter Carroll born 1863.

Do you think I should stop this thread and start another around Peter Carroll?

no, no, no - never start another thread or research will be repeated :-)
