Such a shame, she should have lived longer. I wonder if singing in smoky clubs and bars caused the lung cancer, no restrictions years ago so the air was very polluted

Dear All

Hello

Singer Lesley Gore has passed away.

Lesley Sue Goldstein was born on May 2, 1946.

At the age of 16, in 1963, the American singer recorded the pop hit
"It's My Party", and followed it up with other hits "You Don't Own Me".

She also worked as an actress, and composed songs with her brother Michael Gore for the 1980 film Fame, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award.

Another song Lesley was well-known for was:

"MAYBE I KNOW"
