It's getting closer

The school children were sent home early.......... and

All the local schools will be closed tomorrow.

If I don't post for a couple of days, it means the power is out... or we've been blown away.

Must find a good book and a torch.

The back button didn't take me back to the thread.

It just sat there, displaying the error message.

I got out and came back in.

It's bucketing down.......... and I just looked at the awb website....... there's a great big wet blob heading our way... and I'm going out in 2 minutes.

Where did I put my water wings?

oh ...... I get that quite regularly!!

When you get the Error message ................ just click on the back button

That takes you back to your post

Click on another page on the thread, then click on the page you were on ..........

the post almost always has appeared

it's a GR glitch that crops up regularly

Just do NOT be tempted to hit submit again and again and again .......... that's how you get multiple postings of the same message :-)

The last big storm we had here battered the coast. Loads of rain in the hills, which washed down the rivers....... at the end of it the storm there was no sand left on the beach (see my pic on the left, as it normally looks).

As well as that, some cattle were washed away into the river ...... and two cows ended up on what was left of the beach!

So far today, a bit breezy & a couple of showers, the sky is grey.

I have to go out this afternoon. No point in taking a brolly, I'll end up flying like Mary Poppins.

LS

that was the situation that was threatening when we drove up there in March 1976

It was hairy!

we got into some flooded areas around Emerald and Ruby ....... but then one of them petered out, and so it turned out not to be as bad as the warnings had said.

There hasn't been a cyclone in this neck of the woods for 20 years, but we get the tailend of what hits Qld.

I feel so sorry for people in the north of Qld (the pointy bit), they will be hammered from east & west. There's a cyclone threatening Darwin (a nasty one) and one off the coast of Qld......... hate to think what will happen if the two cyclones meet.

back in 1976, we drove up to Cairns, with a cyclone barrelling in from each side of the peninsula

I don't envy you one little bit :-(

I posted this on SueMaid's thread too...

There are TWO possible cyclones, one north of NT & one east of Qld.

You can see more on the Bureau of Meteorology website -

http://www.bom.gov.au/

To get an idea of how big they are, the UK would easily fit into the State of Victoria.
