let them back in the country or

Someone less charitable than myself might think "good riddance". At least whilst they over there they are not becoming suicide bombers it this country. Bob

they won't be allowed to leave, no matter what kind of ticket they have.

They will be trained to shoot, and married off PDQ ................. then they will be under the control of a possibly violent husband, if some media stories are to be believed.

it's as difficult to control the girls as it is the boys who are being radicalized in countries all over the world.

More and more kids are being slowly radicalized in this country than we can imagine. Once in that frame of mind they will do anything for the cause because they are taught to believe in martyrdom & the glory it will bring.

For the first time in our primary safeguarding training we have been given guidelines on flagging up kids who are showing signs of radicalization even though it's quite rare in primary (also to spot who may have been through FGM but thats another story)

More needs to be done in this country to dig the radicals out from under their stones to protect everyone in this country regardless of faith.

A start should be tighter controls on all faith schools, which I think in some instances (not all) assists families in segregating their children from any western influences, including past friends & lowers tolerance towards the western way of life...and it's people.

For most of those kids its ok, but for a few, like in any religion they are easy to manipulate so go to the next level.

Maybe not,,,

Latest on the news is the officials at the airport are getting the blame for not stopping them...

Surely it is up to the airline to check the passports for how old the girls are and why they are going to Turkey.

I don't think it will be as easy as what ticket they bought.

Will they be able to get back when they realize what they have done?

someone will get three of their 72 virgins before they become a martyr, methinks.....

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 21 Feb 2015 21:19

sadly I don't think they'll be back - they'll just get caught up in things and will be lost - so sad for their parents who obviously had no idea what they were about to do - why don't we have people on watch at airports to spot young girls like this?

Children aged 12+ can travel without an adult on most airlines.

It's all about the money

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 21 Feb 2015 20:18

One of the reports suggested that one girl might have been using her older sisters passport. That would have covered the accompanying adult aspect.
The newspaper did show the PP image; the sisters looked similar to each other.

As a different girl from the same school went to Syria last year, one does wonder if she had been in contact and encouraged them/facilitated the journey.

Teenagers see everything in black and white & think they are invincible. As DC says, they are in for a terrible reality check.

DazedConfused Report 21 Feb 2015 19:53

Who cares, once they get there and see the reality of how women are treated, they will not stay too long.

These are young 'western' girls of Bangladeshi descent. Even if they came from very strict backgrounds life out therr will be a culture shock to them.

They probably got false passports. And none of them really looks that young.

Maybe its just as easy to leave our country
as it is to get in ;-) ;-)
