Knowing Tesco, the cheese was probably medieval. ;-) :-D |

I've been to that place where they sell cheese too, Tesco I think it was, but didn't look a bit medieval more 1980's! |

When I was a child (many moons ago) and my Dad had a car (late 40s early 50s), we often used to drive from our home in Fareham to Swanage for the sandy beach which we children loved. We would pass Corfe Castle. I am ashamed to say my parents never thought to take us in there. But they did used to drive us to Arundel Castle. Wonder why they didn't stop at Corfe!! |

The lesson to learned here is that, wherever there was a new town there is good food to be had. |

I haven't been down that way in years. I used to pass Corfe Castle on my way to Swanage. It's a lovely part of the country. I'll have to head down in the summer, if I get a chance. ;-) :-) |

There's a really good café in Corfe (well, there was last year) - it's called Oliver's Bistro (B & B as well) |

We took Mum on a day out last summer and drove past Corfe Castle, which I always think is very atmospheric and sits in such a lovely spot. We didn't stop there as Mum wouldn't be able to manage the walk but drove all round the area. I pointed out the castle - 'what's that tatty old ruin?' was her only comment :-D |

As you know, I am a bit interested in mediaeval history and have quite a big bit of research going on, after all, I go on about it enough. |
