Coverdale every time. I have it posted here to me from Helmsley in Yorkshire. A whole cheese that is, so I have to ration it out as it is not good for the waistline but soooooooo yummy.

Loook forward to holidays in Yorkshire so I can buy it a little portion at a time it is not so tempting to eat the lot in one go.

France

Chaource, Crottin de Chavignol, Pont-l'eveque, Chaumes, Boulette d'Avesnes, Maroilles, Camembert, Brie

All of these can be found in the usual English supermarkets

England

Stilton, Dorset Blue Vinney, Double Gloucester, Wensleydale, White Cheshire, Lancashire, strong mature Cheddar

The English supermarkets pretend to sell these cheeses but more often than not very disappointing eg Cathedral cheddar. Farmer's markets more reliable. Real Dbl Glos in particular cannot be bought in supermarkets.

The trouble with cheese is that you need some nice bread and a glass of beer or wine to wash it down which leaves yu feeling like another bite of cheese and another glass to wash it down and so on ...

I think it would be easier to ask what cheese I DON't like :-D
I prefer 'soft' cheeses - camembert, brie etc, and various wash-rind cheeses.
Also have a strong penchant for blue cheeses, particularly Stilton and Cornish Blue.

I'm still seeking out interesting cheeses.

Lancashire cheese bomb was interesting - very strong. Daughter had a bomb on the table at a gathering she had. My younger grandson was about a year old, and was sat at the table in his high chair.
The bomb was within his reach. He reached over, took a handful put it in his mouth - then screwed his face up, gasped, shook - and reached over for another handful!!!
