many of us believe that there are other places to find information, many of them requiring subscriptions but also many of them free :-)


that's where we go to search when you ask for help


I don't whether you have noticed, but many of us also post where we have found the information



the great value of this site, as it has been since its inception, is the help members give members.

When I had a Platinum sub, occasionally the results suggested there was a record in say the burial index. When I tried to access, the system said there was no match :-|

I can't believe the data base was down every time that occurred,

there is a reason why most of the member helpers do not use GR records :-)

Some of the GR databases are probably down. I am having a similar problem for both birth records and census returns.

So I have had to log into my Ancestry account to continue with my searches.

I have just found 6 John Sprys b 1788 one shown below;
