Sounds about the same as this programme.
These people wanted to do the best for the animals but were paranoid about letting them out, hence urine and faeces everywhere, with associated health problems - both for them and the animals
Very sad.

Maggie,

Thats awful. It is often the case that these people love their animals, but to have dead animals and not be aware, or aware but to do nothing, they must be seriously wanting help.

Another programme was a woman who took in unwanted dogs, but she had so many she could not cope with them or look after them properly. She just could not refuse any dog. The place was unhygenic and stank to high heaven.

This programme was about 2 Americans.
She had lots of Chihuahua type dogs - but never let them out.
He said he had 7 cats, but had loads more - so many more that he was unaware there were at least 3 dead, desiccated cats behind the sofa!!
He didn't let his cats out.
Both loved their animals above anything - the man's wife left him because of the cats.
Both suffered health problems because of the ammonia (from the animal's urine) in their houses.

Saw a series of the programme a while ago now. One woman had about 30 cats, and she spent her days and nights grooming these cats to show. They were well looked after but I felt it was cruel for the cats, to be messed around with so much, and the poor woman was desperately unhappy herself .

After watching a couple of similar programmes, i couldnt face watching any more. Far from entertaining..

I found it a bit sad - for both humans and animals.
